Champion Gardeners Urged to Enter Spring Spectacular

By David Bell

If you enjoy sprucing up your real estate in Rockhampton with a fantastic garden and outdoor area, an upcoming competition may be just the outlet for you to showcase your efforts.

Anyone who lives in the Rockhampton region and has a bit of a green thumb is being encouraged to take part in the 2013 Betascapes Spring Garden Spectacular, a competition which aims to find the best gardeners and horticulturalists in the area.

This is a great opportunity for anyone with real estate in North Rockhampton, Norman Gardens, or anywhere else in the region to show off their hard work and creativity in the garden.

Entrants in the 2013 Garden Spectacular will be judged in ten categories, with a total of $9,500 worth of vouchers and prizes waiting to go to the winning recipients.

The Rockhampton region will be split into five districts for the judging of the competition, with the winner in each district awarded a $1,000 Betascapes voucher.

After the district winners have been selected, the judges will then come together to crown the Grand Champion for 2013, who will have the lucky privilege of receiving a $2,000 Betascapes voucher to further their horticultural pursuits.

The nominations for this year's event close on August 16, so there's still time to get your garden looking pristine and competition-ready before the judging begins from August 19-23.
