Living Literature Kicks Off at Libraries around Rockhampton

By David Bell

Owners of real estate in Rockhampton are encouraged to indulge their literary side with the launch of Living Literature over this month and next month.

The Living Literature program will see a variety of authors and illustratores speaking at libraries throughout the Rockhampton region, including Yeppoon, North Rockhampton and Mount Morgan, about their experiences and success in this area.

From August 28-29, graphic artist and children's illustrator Marilyn Williamson will be speaking about the creation of her picture book Oh Dear, That's My Rear.

Next up is author Jay Gloria, who will be speaking about her experiences writing her Dracula Vampira series. The first book in the series, Van Diemen's Legend, flits between 2018 and 1877 as vampires arrive in Australia's own Port Arthur.

Ms Gloria will be visiting four libraries from September 13-14 to speak about how the series came about.

Lastly, children's author Royce Bond will be holding a writing workshop for adults at the Mount Morgan Library on October 12.

If you own real estate in North Rockhampton, the Living Literature program is the ideal opportunity to develop your creative skills and get some real insight into the world of writing and publishing. Seats are limited so be sure to book your spot ahead of time.
