A Great Time to Buy Property

By David Bell

If you're on the lookout for real estate in Rockhampton, it may be a good time to make your move and take that first step onto the property ladder.

The results of the latest RAMS First Home Buyers' Pulse Check show that three out of four respondents say now is a great time to buy property, although only a smaller proportion (one in eight) are intending to do so within the next three months.

The information highlights the effects of the recent interest rate cuts from the Reserve Bank of Australia, which may be starting to filter down to home buyers.

According to RAMS Chief Executive Melos Sulicich, buyers are still being cautious about entering the market. However, more buyers this year (32 per cent) say that low interest rates have influenced their property search – compared to 21 per cent last year.

"Today's results show more than 75 per cent [of] respondents believe now is a great time to buy with the majority of respondents increasingly motivated to enter the property market to stop paying rent, take advantage of the current low fixed and variable interest rates," Mr Sulicich said in an August 22 statement.

If you're ready to buy real estate in North Rockhampton, Norman Gardens or elsewhere in the region, the friendly team at Ray White Rockhampton can help you find your first home.
