Paint Your House for Easy Sale

By David Bell

If your Rockhampton property features a bright feature wall, an outdated colour scheme or is simply looking a little faded, you may want to give it a spruce up before putting it on the market.

A paint job can revitalise the area and give it a well-maintained feeling, which is something many buyers look for.

Neutral colours may be a better bet than intense hues as they allow potential buyers to let their imaginations run free.

Some great neutral choices include creams, beige and yellows. Be wary of white, as it is a bright colour rather than a neutral choice.

When picking the colour, you may want to compare the different shades on the wall, as it may look different than the swatch.

Make sure that the hue does not clash with the carpets or curtains, as that is not a good look when you are selling.

Your real estate agent might be able to help you as they have experience with the market so are familiar with trends and know what sells.

If you feel your slice of real estate in Rockhampton does not need a complete overhaul, make sure that there are no marks or chips in the paint.

Give any dings a touch up to entice potential buyers.
